Inès Heddar (b. 1995) is an artist and researcher born and based in France, of Algerian origin. At the intersection of video, sound, drawing, publishing and performance, her work explores the notions of memory, territory and narrative, most importantly along the shores of the Mediterranean. She seeks to develop sensory devices that question the relationship between space, history and perception, with a poetic approach rooted in dreamlike imagery. Her installations invite the viewer to step into the territory where she wanders and find their own interpretative path through it. Inès Heddar’s work is an arrangement of reality through the image, whether it be in movement, in a fanzine, or on a sheet of paper. It is political and sensitive, subjective and conscious.
